Christian Costume Ideas

With Halloween right around the corner I have noticed a pick up in traffic to my site. I've noticed that I'm getting hits for Christian Costume Ideas. So I wanted to take a moment to say, I know the post that is getting the hits: Costume Ideas?, isn't going to help because in that post I was asking for help for my own costume ideas.

Well, I should announce that we did find a costume for our son. He is going to be a road trip! Thank-You to Family Fun for providing us with the Costume Idea. Of course we are modifying the costume a bit seeing Superstar, will be in a wagon or wheel chair that night, because of surgery.

Or perhaps seeing Halloween is "All Hallows Eve" and the night prior to All Saints-Souls Day, you may want an All Saint's Day Costume. Just a thought!

As far as costumes are consern, You must do what you feel is best for your family. I really don't think there is such a thing as "Christian Costumes"! Costumes are just THAT Costumes. There's nothing Christian or Non-Christian about them, it clothing. The clothing can depict Christian Virtues, but it doesn't make the clothing Christian.

Of course a family may choose not to allow their children to dress up, or to dress in a certain way, because of their religous beliefs and convictions.  They have the right to do that!! That's fine....

Halloween Costume Ideas??

Dear Readers,

Several of you have proven to be very helpful in the costume department. So I once again I'm asking you for your help! I do NOT want to debate if Christians should or should not go trick-or-treating or participate in any other festivities associated with Halloween. Every family, regardless of their religion, has the right to decided for themselves if trick-or-treating is something they want to participate in. We have made the decision that this is something that we are going to do. I only ask that you respect my decision just like I would respect yours if you chose NOT to go trick-or-treating.

So now with that out of the way! What can I do for Superstar? As you know he's having his surgery the Wednesday before Halloween. This means BOTH of his feet are going to be in a cast! We have decided that we are going to take him out trick-or-treating, but clearly he can't walked; so he's going to be pulled in a wagon. At least that is our plan as of now!

Anyway what can he be? I'm thinking it would be good to try to include the casted feet as part of his costume. I'm just not sure how to do that. Any Ideas???

Update 10/22/2009: We have found a costume for Superstar and I have made a post about it: Christian Costume Ideas

It's a Mystery Party!

The kids got invited to go to a Mystery Party. Not only that but they got asked to come in costume!

Anybody that knows me knows that coming up with costumes isn't always my cup of tea! It took me some time to come up with the kid's costumes for Peggy the Pint-Sized Pirate. I won't have that kind of time this time around because the party is in in about 2 weeks. (The invite came today).

Here's The Deal:
Superstar needs to go as a nightclub piano player
Web-Princess needs to go as A sidewalk chalk Artist.

Ideas? Anybody? Help me get those wheels turning!!

Peggy The Pint-Sized Pirate

The audio and video isn't the greatest but I wanted to share this with you all seeing many of you seem to be interested on how the play went seeing I've been talking about those darn costumes.

DD and DS did a wonderful job! I was very proud of them! The clip is about 2 minutes long. It really is just the part of the play they were in :) The play is Peggy The Pint-Sized Pirate. It is about how Peggy is trying to save the other other pirates from the sea monster. In this part of the play Peggy (and Scummy) are trying to find the way to the sea monster. She stops to ask the whale (my DS) and the barnacle (my DD) for directions to the sea monsters lair.

EDIT ADD: I just want to add that you may need to turn up your sound/speakers on your PC to hear, but don't forget to turn them down when you are done :)

Edit Add May 21, 2009: more (still) pictures are up. click on "pics" in the menu above. Album's Name: Peggy the Pint-Sized Pirate.

Costumes

A few weeks ago I mention I was struggling with costumes for the kids play. Well I'm happy to announce that they are done. What do you think?
