UPDATE: Read More

In my last post I talked about how I was editing the HTML so my post will have a read more feature. In that post I mention that I still needed to tweak the HTML, so that the read more feature would only show up on the post I wanted it to show up on. I also mention that I wasn't sure what it would do to my feed, after all I wanted my feed to stay full text.

Well I got code tweaked the best way that I can! NOW the read more link will only show up on the POST that I want it too. I thought that it would only show up on a post only if there was more then one post on the page, but that's not the cast. It shows up anytime I'm NOT on the post permalink, and only if I want that post to have the read more option. That's fine with me. It, also, DOES NOT effect the feed, so that's good!

In case you are wondering how I did this and how you can do the same then check out: Selective Expandable Post Summaries

I have added a READ MORE link to my post. This is so I can give previews on my homepage. However, right now it needs more tweaking. That's because this feature is showing up on ALL my post. Even those post that I do not want it to. I like having this feature because it will allow me I think to have more post on my home page which is cool! You should only see this read more feature where there is more then ONE post per page. I'm hoping I can get the html code tweak to fix it. If not then I will removed the read more feature all together. So please bare with me while I tweak things.

I'm also not sure what this will do to the feed. If it turns it into a preview as well then I will remove this feature. Seeing you all voted saying you wanted the feeds to be FULL text.

Parting Words

Okay!!! I know it's not Easter yet...but I just finished up some virtual house-keeping! So I wanted to pop-in and say Hi to all of you before tomorrow (Ash Wednesday) comes!!

My blog got a face-lift thanks to the folks at the cutest blog on the block! I'm so HTML clueless!! And even though I liked my blog before with the 3 columns I wanted something with a little bit more of a spring-ish colors!! After all it will be April when I come back!! So now thanks to the cutest blog on the block, I can spice up my blog time to time and give it different back-grounds as the season or mood strikes me. I was able to ask them at cutest blog on the block to help me with the HTML coding (getting 3 columns). So Judy there is hope!!

Oh and I want to thank all of you for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers! Well this concludes my virtual house keeping! I will (virtually) see you all on Easter Monday!

God Bless,
SAHMinIL

New Look! Perhaps I'll BE "Happy" Now!!

Wow! I am so HTML clueless. I have been for months trying to get 3 columns on this blog. I don't know why, but I just feel like I can have more info with 3 column vs. 2. I also just like the way 3 columns look. I don't think I'll be doing this with my other blogs at least not at this time. LOL.

This is actually my SECOND homeschooling blog. I deleted my other one and started over because I messed up the HMTL so bad that things were a mess. I finally after months of looking found a copy and paste code that actually worked without messing up some of my other stuff!!!

I did have to go back and add some things one at a time, but over all I think I'm happy with the result. It's not exactly the format I was looking for so I may tweak it again. But for now I think it will do. I just happy to have been able to up grade to 3 columns!!!!
